UAE and Middle East eSIM guide

Regional plans that include the United Arab Emirates

If you're travelling to Dubai, Abu Dhabi or elsewhere in the United Arab Emirates, you can stay connected with one of our regional plans. We don't currently sell UAE-only plans, but several regional plans include the UAE alongside its neighbours, which is handy for stopovers and multi-country trips.

🕌

At a glance

  • Gulf Region plans cover the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iraq
  • GCC plans cover the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Oman
  • Middle East plans add Israel, Jordan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Armenia
  • Gulf Region plans start at £8.75 for 1GB over 7 days at the time of writing

Which regional plan includes the UAE?

  • Gulf Region: UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq
  • GCC: UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman
  • Middle East: UAE, Qatar, Israel, Jordan, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Kuwait, Armenia, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Oman
  • Middle East & North Africa: adds Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia

Pick the smallest plan that covers your whole route. The Gulf Region plan is usually the cheapest way to cover the UAE.

Setting up for a Gulf trip

1. Check your phone supports eSIM using our compatibility checker.

2. Install your eSIM on Wi-Fi before you fly. 3. On arrival, choose the eSIM for mobile data and turn on data roaming for it.

4.
If you're connecting through another Gulf airport, the same eSIM works there too, as long as that country is on the plan.

How much data?

Maps, ride-hailing apps, messaging and the odd photo upload use around 300–500MB a day. For a week in Dubai, 3GB is a sensible starting point; heavier users should go for 5GB or more.
