25 verified daily roaming charges, checked 25 October 2026
Daily roaming passes are the default way many networks charge for using your phone abroad. We checked 665 networks in 236 countries and verified 68 roaming prices on operator websites. This guide shows how the daily ones add up over a trip.
The short answer
Compare the current selected product price in your currency with your carrier’s current roaming terms. Older example prices do not establish the amount available or payable today.
Why This Matters
Most people think about roaming per day. Your bill counts it per trip. Multiplying the daily rate by the days you will be away is the fastest way to see whether roaming or a travel eSIM makes more sense.

What counts as a day
Most networks charge a day pass when your home line uses data, makes a call or sends a text in a covered destination. Some count incoming calls or a single background data session. Rules differ, so read what triggers a daily roaming pass and check your network's terms.
When a day pass still makes sense
Check the zone first
A network's daily rate usually applies only in its listed destinations. Outside those, metered rates per megabyte can be far higher. Confirm your destination is in the zone before you rely on a day pass.
A day pass can be the simpler choice for one or two days abroad, or if you need your full home allowance for heavy use. For a week or more, compare the total with a travel eSIM sized to the data you really use; the comparison on each network page lets you change the data and trip length.
A two-week trip on a day pass
At a daily charge, 14 days of normal use means 14 charges. Installing a travel eSIM before departure and turning data roaming off on the home line turns that into one prepaid payment.
Two ways to pay for a week abroad
- Before you fly Install eSIM
- Day 1 abroad Pass or eSIM?
- Days 2 to 7 Charges repeat
- Home again One payment
Final Thoughts
Day passes are convenient, but they charge per day. Multiply by your trip, compare with a travel eSIM sized to your real data use, and decide before you fly.
