Which facilities should I verify?

Check current opening times, access eligibility, permitted stay and listed Wi-Fi or workspace facilities with the lounge operator. Do not assume a lounge is available to an arriving passenger simply because it exists in the airport. Keep the booking and entry instructions offline.

Can I use an eSIM as a work backup?

A covered mobile plan may provide an alternative connection, but check hotspot rules, allowance and validity first. Review work-data and backup requirements. Network conditions indoors can vary, so test before a time-critical meeting.

How should I prepare my devices?

Check the exact unlocked phone and any cellular tablet. A Wi-Fi-only laptop or tablet needs Wi-Fi or a permitted hotspot. Keep battery capacity, work authentication and required files ready rather than depending on one connection. No independent lounge or network test is claimed here.

Protect your home SIM from roaming charges

Switch roaming off on your usual line before you leave home, not after landing, so your phone cannot use your home provider’s roaming data when it first connects abroad. Then switch the travel eSIM on when you arrive.

• Before you fly, iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service (or Cellular) → your usual line → turn Data Roaming off. Keep mobile data on that line until you land.
• Before you fly, Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → your usual SIM → turn Roaming off. On Samsung, start in Settings → Connections → SIM manager.
• When you land: open the travel eSIM line, make sure it is on and turn its Data Roaming (or Roaming) on. Then choose the travel eSIM for mobile data and turn off automatic data switching.
